As of Fall 2026, Flanders Kennels owns four bitches: A Boerboel, Zuri, registered with WBBA, and three Mastiffs, registered with AKC: Aquila, Meissa, and Beaulah. All of my bitches have been or will be tested via PennHip or OFA for hips, OFA for elbows and heart, and Embark for testable, heritable diseases. I also have CBCs and brucellosis testing completed and with normal results, prior to breeding. Zuri
Flanders Azurite in Black and White, “Zuri” was born 2 Oct. 2024. She is WBBA-registered and has competed in one conformation event, earning a bronze medal. Zuri was proudly bred and raised by Flanders Kennels and is out of two amazing and accomplished dogs that I owned: Flanders Hooked on Onyx and Adara Ridge Tempean Tanzanite. Both sire and dam have won in conformation competition and are proven, working livestock farm dogs. Zuri stands 24 1/2″ at the withers and weighs 110lbs. She is not perfect in construction, but she absolutely got the best temperament traits from both of her parents and seemingly none of their shortcomings. Overall, I would say she is the most balanced, level-headed Boerboel I have ever owned. For those who follow pedigrees, Zuri is heavy in Authentic Mizpah and Blackwell breeding lines; some of the nicest Boerboels to ever be imported into the United States. Zuri will be bred, for the first time, in October 2026, with a quality stud owned by my amazing breeding partner, Romboel Farm Dogs. Zuri has passed OFA elbows (preliminary), an echocardiogram, and is well above breed average for hips (PennHip 0.25, 0.45) [her parents are OFA good and excellent], and is not at risk for any currently testable genetic diseases that Embark tests for. I am not currently submitting all paperwork to OFA due to cost management, but am happy to provide copies of all documentation, including radiographs, to anyone seriously interested in purchasing a puppy.
Aquila
Borkholder’s Aquila Sunrise, “Aquila”, is a beautiful fawn Mastiff, born 29 May 2024, and is registered with AKC. Aquila is an absolute sweetheart, that adores people, young and old, and gets along well with most dogs. She is a very affectionate girl that loves to cuddle and give kisses, and is extremely maternal and loves to nanny puppies. Aquila stands 27 1/2″ at the withers and weighs 125lbs. She had the best PennHip results for any breed that my current repro vet has ever tested, with both sides at 0.30 or below, which is well above average for a Mastiff. She passed OFA elbows (preliminary) and an echocardiogram (excellent results). She has also been Embark DNA tested and is not at risk for any currently testable genetic diseases. I am not currently submitting all paperwork to OFA due to cost management, but am happy to provide copies of all documentation, including radiographs, to anyone seriously interested in purchasing a puppy. Aquila was pregnant with a litter in Summer 2026, but unfortunately, lost the pups. I will be doing a retrial with my almost 10yr old stud, Draco, in Fall 2026.
Meissa
Flanders It Never Rains On The Meissa, “Meissa” is a gorgeous brindle Mastiff, born 23 Sept. 2024. Meissa is a very sweet girl that is very friendly towards people and good with male dogs and balanced, older females. She is generally very calm, quiet, and well-behaved; sometimes a little unsure of new environments, but tends to settle in relatively quickly and then feel very comfortable. She has medium prey drive. Meissa stands nearly 28″ at the withers and weighs close to 115lbs, having a very athletic build, like her father. Meissa was bred and raised at Flanders Kennels from two previous dogs that I owned: Titan’s Legacy Walking A Waylon, “Faro” and Olga, “Zora”. Meissa has already passed an OFA echocardiogram and will complete full OFA health testing for hips, elbows, and patellas in Sept. 2026. If she passes, and I assume she will, based on her movement and her parent’s results, I hope to breed her with Theo or Martok in Winter 2026/7. Meissa has also been Embark DNA tested and is not at risk for any currently testable genetic diseases. Results will be published to OFA website once available and a link to her Embark is available upon request. Copies of radiographs can also be sent upon request to any buyer seriously interested in one of her pups.
Beaulah
Flanders Kindred Spirit, “Beaulah”, is a very nicely-built fawn Mastiff, born 23 Sept. 2024, and produced at Flanders Kennels, but raised elsewhere. Beaulah was reclaimed in Summer 2026 because she has some issues getting along with other giant breed female dogs, but she does well with male dogs, and she does well meeting new people out in public. She stands 28″ at the withers and weighs about 110lbs. Beaulah loves to go for car rides and she will endlessly play fetch. She has good protection instincts and is very loyal to her family. For the time being, Beaulah is a breeding prospect and if I decide to move forward and have a suitable stud to pair her with, to balance out a couple of her temperament traits that I don’t prefer, she will be fully health tested.
